The Regional Research Promotion Programme (RRPP) Western Balkans, launched in 2007, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), is aimed at establishing and strengthening research capacities in the field of social sciences in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia.

The RRPP provides funding to researchers from the region conducting relevant research projects. The RRPP Management, hosted at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland, is launching a call for regional research project proposals; open to both researchers and institutions from and residing in the Western Balkans.

The Malevich Society awards

Deadline: 30 September 2011

Open to: PhD candidates of any nationality

The Malevich Society is a private American not-for-profit organization, established by members of the family of the Russian artist Kazimir Malevich, and dedicated to advancing knowledge about Kazimir Malevich and his work.

The Malevich Society awards research and publication grants to encourage research, writing, and other activities relating to the history and memory of Kazimir Malevich.

United States Institute of Peace's (USIP) Grant Program increases the breadth and depth of the Institute's work by supporting peacebuilding projects managed by non-profit organizations including educational institutions, research institutions, and civil society organizations.The Annual Grant Competition supports innovative peacebuilding projects involving research, the identification of promising models and effective practices, the development of practitioner resources and tools, the development and delivery of education, training and dialogue programs, and the production of films, radio programs, and other media.

Demography Prize For Young Researchers

Deadline: 1 October 2011

Open to: young researchers (students, PhD students and postgraduates up to 35 years)

Prize: €10,000

For the first time, the UK's newly established Intergenerational Foundation (IF) and Germany's Foundation for the Rights of Future Generations (FRFG) have joined forces to award a demography prize of €10,000. The prize has been initiated and funded by the German Apfelbaum Foundation in order to promote a public and science-based debate about demographic change and its consequences. Moreover, it wants to open up new horizons for decision-makers.

Bureau of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII), acting as the Advisory Group for the projects for the Second International Decade of the World’s Indigenous Peoples established the Trust Fund for the Second Decade to promote, support and implement the objectives of the Decade. 

The Fund gives priority to projects concerning the main areas of the Second Decade: culture, education, health, human Rights, the environment and social and economic development.

Indigenous organizations or organizations working for indigenous peoples can apply for small grants from the Trust Fund.
